Puertos Canarios announces port improvements in Gran Canaria

Puertos Canarios has announced infrastructure improvements for the ports of Arguineguín and Castillo del Romeral as part of its 2026-2030 strategic plan. The project in Arguineguín is more advanced, with the reorganization of the inner basin expected to be completed in the final four months of this year. This work includes beautifying the quay, installing new railings, and paving the Muelle de la Esperanza to better serve the fishing and recreational boating sectors.

The strategic framework also includes dredging the fishing refuge at Castillo del Romeral in San Bartolomé de Tirajana to improve operational capacity regardless of tide levels. While the plan includes various actions across Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, and La Graciosa, specific investment volumes and execution timelines for the Castillo del Romeral dredging have not yet been detailed.
