Puertos del Estado releases 2025 Statistical Yearbook for Spanish ports

Puertos del Estado has released its 2025 Statistical Yearbook for the State Port System, providing a comprehensive overview of Spain's maritime activity. The report includes an updated interactive dashboard covering data from 1962 to 2025.

In 2025, Spanish ports moved 556.2 million tons of goods, marking a slight 0.3% decrease from the previous year, which officials attributed to global geopolitical and economic instability. Conversely, passenger traffic reached a record high of 42.49 million users, a 4% increase over 2024.

The national port infrastructure consists of 46 ports of general interest, featuring nearly 395,000 linear meters of docks and approximately 100 million square meters of land and storage areas. The system also manages 2,145 navigation aids, including 204 lighthouses. Data from the AEAT highlights the sector's importance, noting that maritime transport accounts for roughly 71% of Spain's imports and 52% of its exports.
