Puglia advances cultural initiatives for Gravina 2027 and regional planning

The Puglia region is advancing its cultural development strategies through new initiatives in Gravina and regional public assemblies. In Gravina, officials have presented ‘Fioriture’, a creative marathon designed to prepare the city for its role as the Puglia cultural capital in 2027. This program follows Gravina's selection as one of ten Italian cities for national cultural capital consideration.

The initiative includes the acquisition of the Mastrogiacomo theater, the use of the Padre Eterno archaeological area, and the recovery of the former Santa Maria convent. To engage the community, the project involves local soundscapes being transformed into music by artist Max Casacci.

Simultaneously, the Puglia Regional Council is hosting a public assembly titled ‘Tutta la cultura’ in Bari. Led by President Antonio Decaro and regional officials, the meeting aims to outline new cultural development strategies and initiate a participatory process for drafting the new three-year regional cultural plan. The assembly seeks input from artists, cultural enterprises, and local institutions across the six provinces of Puglia.
