Puglia approves €9.76 million for weather damage restoration

Puglia Regional President Antonio Decaro has approved an urgent civil protection plan to address damage caused by severe weather events that occurred between late March and early April 2026. The plan utilizes approximately €9.76 million from a €10 million allocation granted by the Council of Ministers following a state of emergency declaration for Puglia, Abruzzo, Basilicata, and Molise.

The funding is divided into two main categories: roughly €698,000 for 23 measures focused on rescue and assistance to the affected population, and over €9.05 million for 236 interventions aimed at restoring public services, strategic infrastructure, and networks. These efforts also include waste and debris management and ensuring administrative continuity in impacted municipalities.

Implementation will be carried out by 38 affected municipalities across the provinces of Foggia, Barletta-Andria-Trani, Brindisi, Lecce, and Taranto, alongside organizations such as the Consorzio di Bonifica della Capitanata, the Consorzio Bonifica Montana del Gargano, and Aqp.
