Italy is hosting several major youth sporting events this October. The 11th edition of the Trofeo CONI, a premier multisport competition for Under-14 athletes, is taking place in Puglia from October 4 to 7, 2026. The event, described as a “mini-Olimpiade,” involves approximately 4,500 participants across 45 disciplines, with ceremonies held in Bari and competitions spread across Castellaneta Marina, Ginosa, Monopoli, and Ostuni. Specific disciplines like field hockey are being hosted in Torre Santa Susanna.

Simultaneously, the Italian Cadets (U16) Athletics Championships are being held in Agropoli. The competition features 886 athletes and 21 regional teams competing for 34 individual national titles. Notable performances include Lucio Arienti winning the 100m hurdles and Nika Jazbec achieving a high mark in the pole vault.

In Calabria, the seventh edition of the Triathlon Race 2026 is being held in Palmi. The event includes Aquathlon for youth and a Triathlon Sprint Silver race for 150 athletes from various Italian regions, utilizing the scenic Costa Viola for swimming, cycling, and running segments.
