Italian regions seek solutions to transport bottlenecks in Puglia and Bergamo

In Puglia, regional councilor Tommaso Scatigna (Fratelli d’Italia) has submitted an urgent inquiry to the Regional Transport Commission, demanding an audit of the deteriorated road linking Alberobello with the industrial zone of Martina Franca. He highlighted that “the criticalities affect all citizens who daily travel to the industrial area … forced to cope with severe traffic restrictions and a badly compromised road surface.” Scatigna called for a rapid, definitive intervention to restore safety and flow.

In Lombardy, councilors Cesare Di Cintio and Giulia Ceci (Forza Italia and Fratelli d’Italia) have presented a parliamentary question to Bergamo’s mayor, seeking detailed data on safety, illegal passenger‑transport activities and urban decay around the city’s main railway station. Di Cintio emphasized that “it is not about alarmism – we just want transparency on the figures and concrete actions,” urging improvements in lighting, surveillance and regular policing to make the station area fully safe and livable.
