Puglia exceeds targets of GOL employment program
The Puglia region has surpassed all targets set for the GOL (Guarantee of Workers' Employability) programme funded by the EU’s PNRR. Out of an intended 285,562 beneficiaries, 391,643 people received support; training was provided to 75,900 citizens and digital‑skills courses to 50,000, far above the original goals of 69,000 and 32,000 respectively. The achievement was presented in Rome during a meeting between the national labour minister and regional labour officials, who expressed satisfaction with the results.
In a related initiative, the regional government allocated nearly €4.5 million from the Joint Transition Fund (JTF) 2021‑2027 to a public call for training workers in the province of Taranto who face corporate crises or restructuring. The funding aims to support reskilling, diversification into green, sustainable, and digital sectors, and to improve employability. Additional funds of €57 million and €15 million have been earmarked for similar training interventions in the Taranto area.
