Puglia health official urges AIFA to accelerate access to daraxonrasib

Felice Antonio Spaccavento, President of the III Permanent Council Commission for Health and Social Services of the Puglia Region, has formally requested the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) to accelerate access to the targeted therapy daraxonrasib.

The request follows an appeal from a young mother in Bitonto suffering from metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Spaccavento has written to the President and Technical-Scientific Director of AIFA to urge the activation of the drug’s compassionate use program.

Spaccavento emphasized that for aggressive diseases, time is the most critical variable. He also requested that Puglia’s oncological facilities be promptly informed if the program is activated to ensure regional patients receive the same access as those in other parts of the country.
