Puglia launches Terre di Murgia project to promote local agro-food

Francesco Paolicelli, the Assessor for Agriculture and Rural Development for the Puglia Region, has introduced the ‘Terre di Murgia – storie fatte di radici’ project. This initiative aims to promote and value the territory through an aggregated strategy.

The project is promoted by the Urban Trade District (DUC) and brings together four municipalities: Acquaviva delle Fonti, Cassano delle Murge, Gioia del Colle, and Santeramo in Colle. By working together, these areas intend to present themselves as a single destination, leveraging their shared history, landscapes, and agro-food traditions.

The Puglia Region is supporting this through its fourth call for the strengthening and development of DUCs, focusing on innovative, integrated, and multi-sectoral interventions. The goal is to overcome administrative boundaries and transform local excellence into a recognizable and shared territorial heritage, connecting local shops, agricultural businesses, catering, and tourism.
