Puglia offers subsidies for social freezing fertility preservation

The Asl Bt has announced a new notice for the 2026-2027 biennium regarding contributions for ‘social freezing,’ a fertility preservation procedure. Under Regional Law n. 42 of December 31, 2024, eligible women can receive a one-time subsidy of up to 3,000 euros to assist with the cryopreservation of oocytes.

To qualify, applicants must be between the ages of 27 and 37, have resided uninterruptedly in the Puglia region for at least 12 months, and be residents of the BAT province at the time of application. Additionally, applicants must have an ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) not exceeding 30,000 euros.

The initiative aims to protect constitutional rights to parenthood and procreation while addressing demographic decline by allowing women to preserve egg quality and quantity for future use.
