During the opening of the 89th Fiera del Levante in Bari, Puglia Regional President Antonio Decaro called for institutional collaboration between the regional government and the national administration. Decaro urged the central government to keep critical issues such as healthcare and the development of Taranto outside of political campaigning to protect the interests of thousands of citizens.

Decaro also addressed economic concerns, noting that while employment data shows progress linked to PNRR and cohesion policies, much of the work remains intermittent and concentrated in low-value-added sectors. He expressed anticipation regarding the national budget and resources for the national health fund.

Tourism Minister Gianmarco Mazzi emphasized that the Italian government considers the South a priority for tourism investment, highlighting growth rates in Puglia and neighboring regions. He noted that investments in Taranto's infrastructure have already yielded tangible benefits for the local community.
