Puglia Region allocates funds for anti-violence centers and social freezing

The Puglia Region has announced a funding initiative of 637,000 euros to establish four new anti-violence centers (CAV). The project aims to improve the territorial distribution of services for women experiencing violence, specifically targeting provinces like Taranto and Lecce, which currently show a deficit in services relative to their female population.

The funds will be distributed equally among successful applicants to cover 24 months of operational activities. Applications are scheduled to open on August 18, 2026, with a 60-day submission window. The new centers will focus on listening, reception, assistance, and support for women and their children to promote protection and autonomy.

Separately, the Puglia Region has also introduced a 3,000-euro contribution for social freezing. This program is designed to assist women aged 27 to 37 who have been residents of the region for at least 12 months and have an ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) not exceeding 30,000 euros, to help cover the costs of egg cryopreservation.
