Puglia launches various regional development and cultural funding programs

The Puglia region has launched several initiatives and funding programs aimed at economic and cultural development. A major highlight is the Apulia Film Fund 2026, which provides 5 million euros to support audiovisual productions, including feature films, documentaries, and animation, provided they involve production activities within the region.

To promote local heritage, the region is also funding agroalimentary events. This includes approximately 151,000 euros for historical and cultural food fairs and exhibitions, as well as additional support for events that showcase high-quality regional products like DOCG and DOP items.

Other regional efforts include a 370,000 euro fund for international cooperation and human rights promotion through local community partnerships. Additionally, the region is seeking to build a community of implementation by inviting local entities, businesses, and citizens to share successful projects that can help execute regional policies.

In Taranto, Confcommercio has raised concerns regarding a generational gap caused by an aging population and high youth unemployment. The association is calling on the Puglia region to implement incentives for first-level apprenticeships to better integrate young people into the workforce, particularly in the service and tourism sectors.
