Puglia Regional Commission against organized crime installs leadership
The Puglia Regional Commission for the Study and Inquiry into Organized Crime has officially installed its leadership. Luigi Caroli has been elected president of the commission, following a unanimous vote coordinated by Regional Council President Toni Matarrelli.
The leadership office includes Domenico De Santis as vice president and Antonio Paolo Scalera as secretary. Caroli emphasized that the fight against the mafia and all forms of illegality is a supreme moral and institutional duty that requires the unity of political, social, and civil forces. He noted that while Puglia possesses significant healthy energy, it continues to face pervasive organized crime, ranging from violence in Foggia to economic-financial infiltrations in Bari, Salento, and BAT.
Scalera expressed his commitment to promoting a culture of legality and working in synergy with all commission members to serve the interests of the Pugliese community.
