Puglia security patrols thwart attempted burglaries

Two attempted burglaries were reported in the Puglia region between Ruvo di Puglia and Corato during the Ferragosto holiday period.

In Ruvo di Puglia, a security patrol observed three individuals with covered faces in a Mercedes GLA. Following an alarm, Carabinieri arrived on the scene, causing the suspects to flee toward Bari.

A second incident occurred in Corato, where a group of at least five people attempted to target a villa. During the confrontation, three suspects fled to an Audi waiting outside, while one individual reportedly pointed a handgun at a security vehicle. Although the suspects escaped toward Bari, police recovered an abandoned backpack at the scene containing a frequency jammer, a lock-picking tool, and a radio transceiver.
