Puglia welcomes Gerry Scotti’s holiday and a weekend of summer music festivals
Popular Italian TV presenter Gerry Scotti was seen enjoying a few days of leisure on the Adriatic coast of Puglia. He spent time on the beach at Capitolo in Monopoli, visited the historic centre and sampled local cuisine, with fans approaching him for photos. The visit coincides with his upcoming 70th birthday on 7 August, which he may celebrate in the region.
At the same time, Puglia and neighbouring Basilicata are hosting a series of cultural events over the weekend of 7‑9 August. Singer‑songwriter Barimannarino will headline the Locus Festival in Locorotondo, performing tracks from his new album “Primo Amore” and earlier hits. The city of Bari also runs a free‑access cultural programme, “Le Due Bari”, offering concerts, theatre, dance and workshops across several municipal districts throughout the week.
Both the celebrity sighting and the scheduled concerts highlight Puglia’s appeal as a summer destination for entertainment and tourism.
