Maglie's Mercatino del Gusto Food Market Opens Fourth Day

The fourth day of the Mercatino del Gusto took place on 4 August in Maglie, Puglia, continuing the 27‑day food market that runs until 7 August. The event spreads across dozens of themed zones, including a Wine Square, Gastronomy and Wellness Streets, olive‑oil, desserts, spirits, coffee, gelato, street food, craft beer, a host‑restaurant, pasta experiences, artisan crafts, a junior market, poetry, fashion, folk music, jazz and more.

At 21:00 the Cento55 Urban Masseria hosted a presentation by Francesco Zompì on the culinary collaboration between Salento chef Cosimo Russo and the owners of Masseria del Sale in Manduria, accompanied by wines from Conti Zecca di Leverano and a trio led by pianist Filippo Galbiati. The same evening a Gusto Lab discussion explored the traditional “’Ncartata” of Salento cuisine with author Paola Pomarico, olive‑grower Silvana Inguscio and historian Gino Di Mitri. At 22:00 the literary corner of the Liceo Capece presented Gianluca Zurlo’s book “Il palloncino rosso e l’algoritmo”, a dialogue on art and artificial intelligence.
