Puglia's vocational training system halted, unions warn of collapse

Regional training associations FORMA Puglia and CENFOP Puglia have sounded the alarm that all active labour policies for young people in the region stopped on 30 June, citing a “paralysis” caused by the regional assessor E. Di Sciascio’s lack of strategic coordination and delays in funding. They demand immediate activation of the GOL (Guarantee of Employment) programme and the closure of the outdated Garanzia Giovani scheme.

The regional branches of FLC CGIL, CISL Scuola, UIL Scuola and SNALS Confsal echo these concerns, describing the system as “on the brink of collapse”. They note stalled graduate lists for professional qualifications, postponed IeFP programmes, and slow repurposing of dual‑track IFTS courses. The unions are calling for a permanent crisis table with the regional government to restore services and protect employment in Puglia’s training sector.
