Pukyong National University selected for UNESCO APCEIU global citizenship program

Pukyong National University has been selected for the third consecutive year for the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for Sustainable Development (APCEIU) ‘2027 Global Citizenship Education Course Establishment Support Project’. The university is the only institution from the Busan region to be included in this year's selection, which features 10 universities nationwide across undergraduate and graduate levels.

Under the guidance of professors Jeong Beop-mo and Moon Ki-hong from the Division of International and Area Studies, the university will operate a specialized course titled ‘Humans, Inclusion, and Global Citizens in the AI Era’. The curriculum will examine how generative AI and algorithms impact information access, labor, migration, and language from a global citizenship perspective.

The program aims to address social inclusion by investigating which groups gain opportunities and which face exclusion due to technological shifts. The course will integrate expert lectures on AI ethics and digital inclusion with practical student activities, such as collaborating with local governments and civil society to implement educational materials in multicultural and migration-related community settings.
