Păuliș commemorates heroes of the 1944 Mureș Valley battles

Commemorations were held in Păuliș to honor the 82nd anniversary of the battles fought by the Păuliș Detachment in September 1944. The unit, primarily composed of students from the Radna Non-Commissioned Officers School, successfully repelled an offensive by Axis forces, including German and Hungarian troops, attempting to advance through the Mureș Valley.

The ceremonies included religious services led by Archbishop Timotei of Arad, memorial services at the Radna Heroes' Cemetery, and a central military-religious ceremony at the Heroes' Monument near Păuliș. Local officials and representatives of the 191st Infantry Battalion ‘Colonel Radu Golescu’ participated in the events, which included laying wreaths and flower garlands to honor the 377 Romanian Army heroes who fell during the conflict.
