Pulse nightclub fire trial continues with expert testimony
The trial regarding the fatal fire at the Pulse nightclub in Kočani continues at the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje. The proceedings are currently in the evidence phase, with the defense focusing on the cross-examination of a team of construction experts from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (UKIM).
The defense is questioning experts Goran Markovski and Dušica Anđelković regarding the urban planning status and structural details of the building. This testimony is part of the prosecution's evidence; once this phase concludes, the defense is expected to present its own evidence.
The tragedy occurred on March 16, 2025, during a performance by the group DNA. The fire resulted in 63 deaths and left more than 200 people injured, marking it as one of the most significant disasters in recent Macedonian history. The case is presided over by Judge Dijana Gruevska-Ilievska and involves a team of 15 public prosecutors.
