Puma reinvents its classic Suede silhouette with leather updates

Puma is reinventing its iconic Suede silhouette, originally launched in 1968, to appeal to new generations through a blend of nostalgia and modern materials. While the original model is deeply rooted in hip-hop, skate, and urban culture, the new Suede Modern version shifts away from traditional suede in favor of smooth leather.

The Suede Modern features a cleaner, more mature aesthetic, available in chocolate brown or white. By utilizing high-quality leather and a more streamlined Formstrip, the design sits between a traditional sneaker and a classic leather shoe. Despite the material change, the footwear retains the essential DNA of the original, such as the flat rubber sole, aligning with current trends that elevate sporty silhouettes with premium materials.
