Pumas part ways with coach Efraín Juárez after Clausura 2026 runner‑up finish

Club Universidad Nacional announced that head coach Efraín Juárez will leave the team following the conclusion of the Clausura 2026 tournament. The club said the decision was made after discussions with the board, ending a tenure that began in March 2025.

Juárez guided Pumas to its best performance in years, finishing the regular season as super‑leaders and reaching the final, where they were defeated by Cruz Azul, securing the runner‑up spot. During his spell he oversaw 59 matches, recording 22 wins, 21 draws and 16 losses while the side scored 92 goals and conceded 81. The club will announce a new coach in the coming days and outline its plans for the Apertura 2026 season.
