Pump.fun launches perpetual futures trading via Hyperliquid
Pump.fun has expanded its service offerings by launching perpetual futures trading powered by Hyperliquid infrastructure. The new feature allows users to trade Bitcoin contracts with up to 40x leverage and Ethereum contracts with up to 25x leverage. While Hyperliquid manages order execution, margin requirements, and liquidations, Pump.fun provides the user interface and charges up to 0.10% per order.
The native PUMP token has experienced significant volatility. Following the announcement of the derivatives expansion, the token price saw a recovery, climbing approximately 8.9% from its intraday low to reach roughly $0.004649.
However, the token has faced broader downward pressure after peaking near $0.0068 in early October. Analysts noted that PUMP recently broke key support levels, falling toward $0.00430 as selling momentum outweighed buyback efforts. While trading volumes remain relatively high, much of the activity is driven by secondary-market swaps rather than new buying pressure.
