Pumpkin festivals and agricultural traditions celebrated in Italy

Various pumpkin-themed celebrations and agricultural traditions are being highlighted across Italy. In Rocchetta di Cengio, the 22nd edition of ‘Zucca in Piazza’ recently concluded with high attendance. The event featured local culinary specialties, including risotto made with Rocchetta pumpkins, show cooking by chef Paolo Bazzano, and traditional pumpkin competitions.

In Pignataro Maggiore, ‘Il Giardino delle Zucche’ is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Founded by entrepreneur Emily Turino, the site introduced the American-style pumpkin patch tradition to Italy in 2016 and has grown into one of the largest in Europe. The farm produces its own pumpkins and offers seasonal activities such as pumpkin carving, mazes, and a new tagetes flower garden. Culinary offerings at the site include pumpkin-based street food and seasonal specialties like pumpkin spice lattes.
