Pune businessman fakes immigration issue to hide trip with another woman
A businessman from Pune allegedly fabricated an immigration crisis to hide a planned trip with another woman from his wife. The incident began at Mumbai International Airport when immigration officials stopped the woman for attempting to use a passport she had previously declared lost.
To avoid his wife discovering the true nature of the trip, the man claimed he had been forced to surrender his mobile phone to authorities due to an unspecified issue. After making brief calls to his wife to maintain the deception, he switched off his phone and went to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai.
Concerned for his safety after he became unreachable, the man's wife filed a kidnapping report with the police. The businessman eventually appeared at the Sahar police station and admitted to the fabrication. Police intend to file a ‘C Summary’ closure report in court, a classification used for cases involving a genuine mistake of fact or those found to be neither entirely true nor false.
