Pune devotee offers 251-kg modak-shaped cake to Dagdusheth Ganpati

During Ganeshotsav celebrations in Pune, a 251-kg modak-shaped cake was offered to the Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati idol. The Rasmalai-flavored cake was prepared by WS Bakers, marking the second consecutive year the bakery has provided this special offering.

A team of 40 to 50 people worked to create the giant cake, which was presented at the Prem Mandir-themed Ganpati pandal during morning rituals. Following the ceremony, the cake was distributed to devotees as prasad. WS Bakers Director Vikas Agarwal stated the initiative aimed to combine the traditional modak shape with a cake to symbolize celebration.

In addition to large-scale offerings, festive preparations include various recipes for home celebrations, such as double chocolate modaks featuring a cocoa milk-powder outer layer and a molten chocolate center.
