Pune municipal water cuts suspended, regular supply continued through July 22
On July 15, the Pune Municipal Corporation announced it would restart alternate‑day water cuts because reservoir levels remained only about half full despite recent heavy rains. The cuts had previously been lifted to ensure uninterrupted supply for the Warkari pilgrimage.
Later that day, Mayor Manjusha Nagpure directed that all water cuts be suspended until July 22, stating that “enough water stock is available in the reservoir areas” and that regular supply would continue for the next week. The city will review rainfall forecasts and reservoir levels after July 22, and the mayor appealed to residents to use water “extremely responsibly and frugally.”
