Punjab and Uttar Pradesh Report Separate Domestic Homicide Incidents
In Nawanshahr, Punjab, police say 24‑year‑old Gurvinder Singh, the partner of a teenage girl's mother, confessed to strangling the 16‑year‑old victim on May 29 after she opposed the relationship. Singh allegedly placed the body in a suitcase and dumped it in a forest in Hoshiarpur district, where a partially burnt corpse was later found. He has been detained and remanded for further investigation.
In Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, 21‑year‑old Sagar Yadav, described by police as mentally disturbed, stabbed his mother during an argument and then jumped from the fifth‑floor flat of their apartment. Yadav died at the hospital, while his mother remains in treatment. The incident was reported to the Bishrakh police station and is under investigation.
