Punjab announces 2026-27 MBBS and BDS admission policy

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has released the MBBS and BDS admission policy for the 2026-27 academic session in Punjab. The policy applies to both public and private medical and dental colleges across the province, with UHS managing the centralized admission process.

Under the merit formula, the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) carries a 50% weight, FSc results account for 40%, and matriculation marks contribute 10%. To be eligible, candidates must have scored at least 60% in their FSc, with biology and chemistry as compulsory subjects.

Notably, the policy confirms that no additional marks will be awarded for being a Hafiz-e-Quran, citing a 2023 Supreme Court judgment. Annual tuition for public medical and dental colleges is set at Rs50,000.

Applicants for public colleges must list all institutions in order of preference, whereas private-sector applicants may select as many as they wish. Selected candidates must pay their fees within three working days of the merit list being displayed. Overseas Pakistanis selected on open merit will be subject to the same fee structure as local students.
