Punjab bans specific Glycosting injection batch due to heart rate risks
The Directorate of Drug Control in Punjab has issued an immediate ban on the distribution, supply, and sale of a specific batch of Glycosting 1ml injections. This action follows reports of patients experiencing dangerously slow heart rates after use.
The affected product is Glycosting 1ml, batch number BBG11 (expiry date: January 2028), which contains Glycopyrrolate 0.5mg and Neostigmine Methylsulfate 2.5mg. The Provincial Quality Control Board issued the ban under Alert Number 125/2026 as a precautionary measure.
Distributors have been ordered to halt the supply of this batch and submit all quality control and pharmacovigilance records to the Drug Inspector. Hospitals, distributors, and pharmacies must quarantine the affected batch. Citizens are strongly advised to stop using this specific batch immediately.
