Punjab BJP issues disciplinary notices and condemns MP visit

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab is facing internal friction following several controversial incidents. The party's Disciplinary Committee has issued show-cause notices to three senior leaders—Randeep Singh Deol, Maninder Singh Kapial, and Jatinder Kalra—following a press conference in Sangrur on August 25. The committee stated their remarks regarding internal organizational matters breached party discipline and harmed the party's reputation. The leaders have seven days to provide a written explanation.

Separately, Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon has condemned a visit by three Delhi-based BJP MPs to the home of Sajjan Kumar, a convict in the 1984 anti-Sikh massacre case. Dhillon described the act of offering condolences to Kumar as “extremely painful and unfortunate,” stating it insults the victims of the violence. He noted that BJP national president Nitin Nabin has already reprimanded the MPs involved.
