Punjab Chief Minister approves major road and infrastructure projects

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved several development projects under the Own Source Revenue (OSR) programme targeting the Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, and Faisalabad divisions. In Lahore, ten specific roads—including Egerton Road, Litton Road, Davis Road, Lower Mall, Lawrence Road, Queens Road, and Bank Road—are slated for major improvements such as road carpeting, expansion of dual carriageways, and the installation of footpaths and drainage systems. The plan also includes city beautification efforts, such as adding artwork to the Metro track and pillars at Lakshmi Chowk.

During meetings with provincial legislators, the Chief Minister emphasized the resolution of public issues and highlighted the expansion of technology-driven services, such as the Punjab e-Bus and the ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ portal. Additionally, the administration has been directed to provide relief and rescue measures for families affected by river erosion in Layyah, including assessments of damage to property and agricultural land.
