Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Announces Qadian Sub‑Division Upgrade and Boosts Anti‑Drug Drive

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced that the Qadian constituency will be upgraded to a sub‑division, consolidating the Sub‑Divisional Magistrate, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Assistant District Commissioner offices into a single modern complex. The move is intended to provide all government services under one roof and follows the government's claim of building more than 43,000 km of link roads, providing zero electricity bills for 90% of households and ₹10 lakh cashless health cover for 47 lakh families.

Mann also directed Deputy Commissioners, Commissioners of Police and Senior Superintendents of Police to intensify the state’s “Yudh Nashean Virudh” anti‑drug campaign. He highlighted the role of Village Defence Committees, which have lodged over 13,000 complaints in three months and now number about 1.5 lakh members. The Chief Minister urged continued grassroots action, monthly committee meetings and expanded de‑addiction and rehabilitation services to make Punjab drug‑free.
