Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann accuses BJP of using CBI raids for election campaign

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using central investigative agencies to launch an election campaign in the state. The accusations follow a raid by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at the Chief Minister's camp office in Chandigarh.

Mann stated that the CBI search indicates the Punjab Assembly elections will proceed on schedule. He claimed the BJP is attempting to use agencies to create fear and tarnish the image of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, drawing parallels to previous raids in Delhi, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh ahead of elections.

The Chief Minister asserted that the raids would not uncover any evidence of corruption, stating, “no matter how many raids they conduct, they will not find even a single rupee of corruption with us.” He maintained that his administration remains focused on public service and progress rather than being diverted by political pressure.
