Bhagwant Mann launches AAP door-to-door election campaign in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has launched a statewide door-to-door election campaign for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. Starting from Dhuri, the campaign utilizes a governance report card and the theme ‘Mann Da Munafa’ to highlight the financial benefits of government welfare schemes. Mann claims that initiatives such as free electricity, healthcare, education, and the Maavan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna provide an annual benefit of ₹1.82 lakh to every family in the state.

The campaign also involves the distribution of election pamphlets by party workers to communicate achievements in infrastructure, employment, and agriculture. Mann highlighted the provision of approximately 71,000 merit-based government jobs and efforts to improve irrigation through canal water pipelines.

In contrast, the Punjab BJP has criticized the AAP administration, accusing the government of failing to curb the drug menace and allegedly attempting to silence individuals who speak out against the open sale of drugs. Meanwhile, the AAP has seen political gains in the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency, where several Congress leaders and workers joined the party, citing satisfaction with local development and welfare initiatives.
