Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Orders Province‑wide Clean Water Plan

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting of the Punjab Clean Water Authority and directed officials to present a comprehensive clean drinking‑water supply plan for the entire province within five days. She ordered the authority’s restructuring, the installation of reverse‑osmosis and advanced filtration plants using Japanese and Chinese technology, and the deployment of mobile bottling units to reach remote households. All 5,734 existing filtration plants will be repaired and additional plants added where needed, with each facility required to display operator details.

During the same period, Nawaz highlighted broader governance achievements, praising a record‑size graduating batch of 1,156 women police recruits and noting that Punjab now has the lowest crime rate in its history. She emphasized safety for women, the province’s development benchmarks, and the role of women in leadership positions across government and security services.
