Punjab CM's wife bribery probe: ED summons Amardeep Grewal

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its investigation into an alleged 5 crore rupee bribery case involving Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, the wife of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The agency has issued a summons to Amardeep Singh Grewal, a prominent figure in the Punjabi film industry and the Chief Minister’s brother-in-law, for questioning.

The investigation focuses on financial aspects and potential foreign funding linked to Grewal’s company, M/S East Sunshine Production Private Limited. The allegations suggest that 5 crore rupees were sought to allegedly suppress a rape case. While political opponents have made these claims, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur has dismissed them as baseless and has filed criminal defamation cases against those involved. A Chandigarh court has issued an interim stay against the publication of unverified defamatory material regarding the matter.
