Punjab Congress Chief visits injured youth in Sangrur

Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring visited the Sangrur Civil Hospital to check on the condition of Mohanjeet Singh, a youth who was allegedly injured during police action. Singh, a resident of Sero village, was reportedly taken into custody during a protest and later released to the hospital for treatment.

Mohanjeet Singh has alleged that police officials assaulted him throughout the night while in custody, claiming he was subjected to electric shocks and physical injuries. Raja Warring further alleged that the youth was subjected to brutality, including having his beard pulled out, after he reportedly displayed a black flag from a distance.

The incident has sparked political controversy in Punjab. Raja Warring criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the incident and called for accountability for the officers involved. Various political parties have planned a major protest for September 6 to express their anger over the allegations.
