Punjab Education Minister denies school condition claims

Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of spreading misinformation by circulating an old video of a government school to criticize the state's education system. The video, which was shared on social media by BJP MP Harbhajan Singh, allegedly showed poor conditions in school toilets.

Following the viral post, Bains conducted an unannounced inspection of the school to verify the claims. His investigation revealed that the video was actually from 2018 and did not reflect the current state of the facility. Bains reported that the school currently has functioning toilets, clean drinking water, Wi-Fi, smart boards, and sanitary pad disposal machines.

The Minister emphasized that the Aam Aadmi Party government is committed to education and is working to improve infrastructure across approximately 20,000 schools in the state. He criticized the use of outdated footage for political propaganda, stating that the younger generation seeks development rather than false publicity.
