Punjab and Haryana High Court stays pharmacy officer recruitment
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed the recruitment process for 454 pharmacy officer positions in Punjab. The decision follows a petition challenging the examination conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) due to allegations of a paper leak.
Justice Sandeep Moudgil issued the order, stalling the appointment process until the next hearing scheduled for September 17. While the state government had previously characterized the issues as mere irregularities and suspended certain individuals, the court has taken the allegations of cheating seriously.
The ruling has drawn political criticism, with members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Punjab government of failing to ensure transparency and dismissing early reports of misconduct.
