Punjab Police bust cross‑border drug and weapon trafficking network in Amritsar, four arrested
On July 18, Punjab Police acted on a secret tip in Amritsar and arrested four suspects suspected of running a cross‑border network that traffics heroin and illegal firearms. A raid recovered 5.557 kg of heroin and two pistols.
Investigators say the arrested individuals were in contact with foreign traffickers who supplied the shipment. Cases have been filed at the Islam abad and Cheharata police stations, and the police are examining phones and other evidence to identify additional members of the network. The force said the operation is part of an ongoing campaign against drug and weapon smuggling in the state.
