Punjab police investigate fatal abduction and hit-and-run incidents
Police in Punjab are investigating two separate violent incidents involving vehicles in the Patiala district.
In the first incident, a 27-year-old motorcyclist identified as Nawab Khan was allegedly struck head-on by an SUV traveling on the wrong side of the Patiala–Sangrur highway near Dakala village. Following the collision, occupants of the SUV reportedly abducted Khan. Video footage captured a passerby recording the victim hanging from the vehicle window as it sped away. Khan was later found stabbed to death, with his body dumped in a drain near Kalajhar village. Authorities have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and are conducting raids to locate the suspects.
In a separate incident, a speeding white car allegedly crashed through toll barriers at a plaza, striking an employee named Amandeep Singh. The driver reportedly continued moving for several meters with the employee on the vehicle's bonnet. Singh sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized. Police are using CCTV footage to trace the vehicle's registration number and are currently searching for the driver who fled the scene.
