Punjab Police to Procure 253,000 New Uniforms in Rs2 Billion Standardization Drive

Punjab Police approved a policy to standardize uniforms across all operational units for the current financial year.

The plan calls for the procurement of more than 253,000 olive‑green uniforms, covering badges, caps, berets, medals, pockets and name plates while retaining the existing colour.

The provincial government allocated nearly Rs 2 billion for the programme; over 125,000 uniforms are earmarked for District Police, with the remainder distributed to the Highway Patrol, Traffic Police, Elite Force, Special Protection Unit, Regional Mounted Police and other formations.

Pre‑qualification for the purchase will begin later this month, and about 90,000 uniforms ordered under last year’s programme have already been received for the District Police.
