Punjab weather forecast predicts heavy rain and temperature drop
The Meteorological Department has predicted a powerful weather system arriving in Punjab starting October 28. This western weather system is expected to bring heavy rains accompanied by strong winds and thunder across various parts of the province, leading to a significant decrease in temperatures.
While Punjab prepares for cooler conditions, Karachi is expected to remain hot and dry, with maximum temperatures forecasted between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius.
Experts note that the formal onset of winter in the plains of Punjab, including Lahore, is expected during November. However, climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, and shifts in atmospheric circulation have altered traditional seasonal patterns. Observations over the last 8 to 10 years indicate that the duration of severe winter in Pakistan has decreased from approximately 75 days to about 50 days.
