À Punt Director General faces calls for resignation amid controversy

Political leaders in the Valencian Community are demanding the resignation of Francisco Aura, the Director General of the public media group À Punt, following controversial broadcasts.

On the radio program ‘Matí Directe’, presenter Sergi Olcina questioned the mental health of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, while a guest referred to the Prime Minister using derogatory language. This incident has led the PSPV to demand Aura's dismissal, citing unacceptable behavior and a lack of plurality in the public broadcaster.

Additionally, the political group Compromís has accused À Punt of serving the interests of the PP party. The group expressed indignation over the broadcaster airing content from Telemadrid, arguing that the public media outlet is failing to support the Valencian audiovisual sector and is instead becoming a replica of Madrid-based media. Critics have highlighted issues regarding declining audiences, worker dissatisfaction, and insufficient news coverage.
