À Punt launches special programming on Valencia floods
The Valencian public broadcaster, À Punt, has announced a week of special programming to address the consequences of recent flooding and commemorate the second anniversary of the October 29, 2024, DANA tragedy.
The programming includes the reportage ‘La dana del 2026. Quan la terra es va fer aigua’, which reconstructs the recent torrential rains that struck the Safor and Marina Alta regions. The report examines the meteorological factors behind the DANA Adam event, which saw historical rainfall levels, including 712 liters per square meter in Forna within 24 hours. This recent emergency resulted in nearly 1,900 reported incidents, including rescues and evacuations.
The special coverage also reflects on the 2024 disaster, which claimed 233 lives and heavily impacted regions such as l’Horta Sud, La Ribera, La Hoya de Buñol, and La Plana de Utiel-Requena. The broadcaster will feature testimonials from victims and updates on the recovery process in the most affected municipalities.
