Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Plant repairs critical boiler leak

Specialists and workers at the Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Plant in Felton have repaired a leak in a tube located on the rear wall of the boiler dome. The technical malfunction, involving a fissure, had previously forced the complete shutdown of the generation block to facilitate repairs.

Technical director Víctor Hugo González Quiala stated that the repairs to the boiler dome were the most complex part of the critical path. In addition to fixing the leak, crews addressed over one hundred anomalies in the turbogroup and performed maintenance to improve efficiency. If a scheduled hydraulic test is successful this Sunday, the unit is expected to be synchronized back to the National Electric System (SEN).
