Punta Arenas hosts Construction Technology Encounter 2026

The Construction Technology Encounter 2026 took place in Punta Arenas, organized by the Magallanes branch of the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC). The event, held on October 14 and 15, brought together over 300 professionals, students, and industry representatives to discuss artificial intelligence, energy efficiency, and tools for modernizing the sector.

Cristóbal Bascuñán, president of the CChC Magallanes, emphasized the goal of establishing innovation within the region to improve productivity and sustainability despite local geographic and climatic challenges. The program included a seminar for approximately 80 electricity students focusing on BIM methodology and green hydrogen technologies.

A central highlight was the keynote speech “Hack Yourself” by Chilean inventor Barbarita Lara. Lara, recognized by MIT Technology Review, discussed transforming technological challenges into entrepreneurial opportunities and spoke to an audience of over 130 attendees.
