Punta Arenas hosts high-level musical performances

The city of Punta Arenas is strengthening its cultural presence through high-profile musical events. Soprano Verónica Villarroel recently performed a sold-out gala at the Teatro Municipal José Bohr alongside the duo Il Sogno, featuring a mix of opera and popular songs. The event was fully funded by the Municipality of Punta Arenas and the Municipal Culture Foundation to provide regional access to professional artistic circuits.

In a separate initiative, singer Dominga Sinfónico is planning a large-scale symphonic concert for October 2026. The project, titled ‘Dominga Sinfónico’, aims to bring a professional production featuring 19 musicians and Russian conductor Alexander Shikitov to the historic Palacio Sara Braun. The goal is to offer grand-format musical experiences to the Magallanes region without requiring travel to Santiago.
